oops skipped a month - april 14, 2025 8:50 am

hi everyone!!
sooo.... i may have forgotten to update this for march but... i'm here now so does it really matter??
anyways i'd love to dive into the past almost 2 months!!

i had my spring break during march and since im so lucky and my school is awesome, it was 2 weeks. my band practiced a little bit for our upcoming performance (april 17th btw) on the first weekend but later during that first week, our guitarist and vocalist both went on trips. since we couldn't really practice, i got some of my other friends and we started a new minecraft creative world. we started building a city and put up to 10 hours into it a day so it grew pretty fast. haven't really gotten on it since that first week though, oh well. anyways, i also discovered my new obsession that week. it's a manga called the guy she was interested wasn't a guy at all (also called green yuri). picked it up cause i saw that the main characters like nirvana and foo fighters but then i accidentally my have read the whole thing in a day... it's so awesome i can't even begin to say how much i love it. i bought both of the physical copies that next weekend. and it's even cooler cause the author uploads another chapter every sunday. anyways i need to get back to what i was doing. i had a sleepover with one of my friends and we did a ton of fun stuff. we made gingerbread cookies together (recipe from julie), went to the mall and got some books and cds, went to barnes & noble (i got tgswiiwagaa and a dirt by alice in chains cd and he got a different cd that i cant remember rn), and we ended the shopping spree with a trip to savers but we didn't find anything.

spring break was fun but then april came around and i don't think i've felt more drained in my life... there has just been so much work to do and it's just.. idk i don't have the words for it. it doesn't help that i got sick and am now missing school because of it (that's why i'm posting this on a monday morning). but anyways i got to see the minecraft movie with my friends and i must say that was a 5/10 movie but a 20/10 experience. i just couldn't hold myself together and neither could anyone else in the theater. there was an actual standing ovation for chicken jockey, let's minecraft, and when the movie ended. also i had to check ao3 after seeing the tention between garrett and steve, and i was correct in assuming that there was gonna be 20+ uploads already.

well thats like most of it i suppose... my birthday and prom are back to back this year so can't wait to see how that turns out... umm yeah.. ill probably update this after my birthday and then we'll see from that point.

hii guyss!!!
it's been a while since i've made an update but i have my good reasons for it. i really wanted to but the last month or so has been absolutely full of work so i haven't had time to make another post. oh well here i am now if anyone was wondering.
now with that aside...

IT'S KURT COBAINS BIRTHDAY!!!
he would've been 58 today and that just sounds super weird to me. it's strange to imagine what he'd be like now but i suppose it's best not to.
anyways i'm celebrating by listening to nirvanas three studio albums! i wanted to listen to them in a newer way so i decided to mix it up a bit... first up is in utero (i'm on radio friendly unit shifter as i type this), then bleach, and then i'll end it off with nevermind. i went with this specific order because serve the servants and scentless apprentice are perfect openers for this. blew was almost if not always played at the end of nirvana sets right before the encore so that couldn't be the opener and smells like teen spirit was more towards the middle of the setlists. then i decided that i'd rather have something in the way as the closing song than downer... (hehe get it?) so boom theres the order. i'm listening to all of these on cd so it's a little unfortunate that my nevermind doesn't have endless, nameless on it cause that is THE closer song but it's alright i suppose.
(just started bleach as i type this.)

here is a quick rundown of the past month (minus all of the not fun stuff):

i think i've discovered the magic secret to writing music so, i'll share it here to see if it helps anyone else!! my friends/bandmates write a lot of poems and post them on instagram or tumblr so what i do is take those poems and kinda sing them to myself for a little bit. once i've got a nice melody, i find chords that sound nice with it and i'll write them down. boom there's all the hard stuff done, now all to write is a bassline and drums. i haven't fully finished any using this method yet but i also plan to change the lyrics to something other than the poem using the same melody.

i saw this post of someone doing a horimiya valentines rewatch and i thought it was a cool idea. essentially it's just an episode a day starting on february 1 and then they post a little review on each episode. i decided not to review it like they did because i'm lazy but it's been really fun so far. it's something nice to look forward to at the end of the day. i also got the first issue of the manga and it was really cool to see all the stuff not included in the anime.

i spent valentines day in an electronic parts store looking for parts to build a guitar pedal!! i've wanted to get into it for a wile and i happend to stumble across jhs's japan fuzz a few days before. i'm still waiting on the right transistors to get here since i had to order those but it's been a super exciting wait!!! i plan on building a phaser next because that's an effect i really want to try out. after that maybe an improved ds-1 or somthing of the sort? i've been looking at the hum along by leyland pedals and i think i want it to be something like that. we will have to see if i even survive this japan fuzz first though...

so yeah thats's about it... there's been other things in the past weeks but not much to note.

hiii everyone!!
i've seen that there have been many visits on this site and, even though they're probably all from bots, i'd like to thank all of you who took the time to read the small amount of content i have on here!! seeing all the views great motivation to stick with this site and create something i'm proud of because i can see that other people are actually seeing the stuff i write! and for anyone wondering, it may be a while for the covers and original music tabs to go up cause i'm not the best at recording and i only want to put things of value out there so... sorry..
anyways onto the actual content.
it's past midnight at the time of me writing this and i've been trying to write songs all evening. but my efforts were all in vain and i have nothing to show for it. for the past few months i haven't written any riffs i actually enjoy. every approach i take just leads me to the same dead end. genuinely i have no clue how to write songs anymore. when i first got my guitar last year i felt like i was cranking out a bunch of songs but now it's just... nothing. it's not like i'm not inspired or anything, i really do enjoy playing this guitar, but i just cant write anything of substance. a good chord progression is hard enough to make, but the melodies are even worse. and they're like the MOST important part!! it's like i have the drive to do this but without the talent.
if any of you reading have tips or something, please let me know on like spacehey or discord or something (in previous blog post). anyways thanks for reading my little rant. >_<

hello whoever may be reading this,
i'm willow, and here's a few things about me:
i like almost anything music related and i play a ton of instruments!!
i primarily play drums but i've been playing guitar quite a bit and even some bass.
i like to write music too, which brings me to the main use of this website.
i want to share the music i write and some demos of cool songs too. maybe even some things about what i'm currently listening to.
i'll also post about other things like games (usually fortnite) or maybe some other projects i'm working on!!
